President of the KFS Kamchybek Tashiev met with the heads of Premier League clubs

The meeting of the Premier League club leaders with the president of the Kyrgyz Football Union, Kamchybek Tashiev, took place at the KFU, as reported by the organization's press service.
Representatives of the Kyrgyz Professional Football League (KPFL) and managers of the clubs were present at the event: "Dordoi," "Alga," "Ilbirs," "Bishkek City," "Asiagol" (all from Bishkek), "Kyrgyzaltyn" (Kara-Balta), "Abdysh-Ata" (Kant), "Talant" (Besh-Kungey), "Neftchi" (Kochkor-Ata), "Muras United" (Manas), "Uzgen," "Alai," and "OshMU" (Osh), as well as "Bars" (Karakol), "Toktogul" (Toktogul), and "Asia" (Talas).




The KFU also announced the expansion of the Premier League for the next season. Due to the withdrawal of the "Toktogul" club from the National League, the "Asia" club from Talas, which was established with the support of Omurbek Babanov, has joined the competitions. Thus, 16 teams will compete in the new season.
During the meeting, the KPFL's report on the 2025 season and the KFU's report on the development of football infrastructure were discussed. Additionally, the KPFL leadership presented plans for the 2026 sports season.
Changes in the names of the championships were also announced:
• The Premier League will now be called the Top League;
• The National League will change to the First League.
From the new season, the team that finishes first in the First League will have the opportunity to move up to the Top League, while the last-placed team, the 16th team, will be relegated to the First League.
All changes were communicated to the meeting participants.
