Meri Kuakova, also known as Maria, is one of the winners of the "Miss Kyrgyzstan 2024" contest and is currently representing her country at the 74th Miss Universe international beauty pageant.
The current contest is taking place in Nonthaburi, Thailand, where participants from 120 countries are competing. The final is scheduled for November 21.
Yesterday, a national costume show took place, where Meri showcased a brown-beige outfit with striking golden wings. The model emphasized that the outfit was inspired by the golden eagle, which symbolizes strength and freedom in Kyrgyz culture.

In her social media, Kuakova noted that her costume symbolizes the strong connection of the Kyrgyz people with the sky, as well as embodying the courage and independence of the country.
“When I performed on the Miss Kyrgyzstan stage, a real golden eagle was beside me — a living embodiment of my homeland. This moment became a sign of destiny for me and a blessing that I now carry onto the world stage,” wrote Meri Kuakova.
“These wings are not just fabric and gold. They are the heartbeat of a nation that has never bowed its head, the story of a people who rise again and again, and the spirit of a woman ready to soar above the clouds,” she added.
