On December 7, at its meeting, the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed the situation with the chairpersons of the precinct electoral commissions in the multi-mandate constituency No. 13.

The decision on the changes was made following the instruction to the Nooken and Mailuu-Suu territorial electoral commissions to elect new chairpersons for 35 precinct commissions within five days.

This decision was a consequence of unlawful actions recorded during the elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in constituency No. 13, which were declared invalid by the CEC on December 3.

During the review of complaints received by the Central Election Commission, it was established that observers from the candidates illegally installed cameras at 35 polling stations, which violated the secrecy of the vote and the free expression of the voters' will. For this reason, the elections in this constituency were declared invalid.

It should be noted that the chairpersons of the 35 precinct electoral commissions did not take the necessary measures to prevent the aforementioned violations, which served as the basis for the decisions made.

The CEC emphasized the importance of a quick response to violations of electoral legislation and the need for cooperation with law enforcement agencies in case of threats or obstacles to the work of the electoral commissions.
