At the Kurultai, it was proposed to remove the women's quota from the Jogorku Kenesh

“Men are left out”

During the IV People's Kurultai, a participant from the Kara-Suu district, located in the Osh region, proposed to abolish the women's quota in the composition of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.

He noted that “men who have received between eight to ten thousand votes remain outside the selection, giving way to those who received only one or three thousand votes. In his opinion, this reduces men's motivation to participate in elections. For example, in our region, there are female candidates who received more votes than their male colleagues. This is really achievable,” said the delegate. He also added that educational institutions should introduce a course on “Iman sabagy.”
