Elections to the City Duma: A video has emerged about alleged vote buying in electoral district No. 9, police have begun an investigation

Recently, a video appeared on social media documenting a case of possible vote buying in electoral district No. 9.

In the footage, women are seen valuing their vote at 2000 soms and receiving 20,000 soms for 10 people.

According to the press service of the Osh region police, an investigation is currently underway regarding this incident.

“This case was registered at the Uzgen District Department of Internal Affairs, and an investigation is currently being conducted,” the official statement said.

Additionally, the regional police reported that since the start of the campaigning period, 89 cases of violations have been recorded. Criminal cases have been initiated for 4 of them, one case has already been sent to court, and investigations are ongoing for 3 cases. In 81 cases, the initiation of criminal proceedings has been denied.

As of 10:30 AM on December 1, 2025, AKIpress, citing the Central Election Commission, published preliminary results from the automated ballot reading machines for the elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh (district No. 9).
The district includes: the Savaisky and Intymak rural areas of the Kara-Suu district in full, as well as the Kyzyl-Oktyabr, Kurshab, Jalpak-Tash, Karoool, and Don-Bulak rural areas and the city of Uzgen in the Uzgen district.

The early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in Kyrgyzstan concluded on November 30, with 460 candidates participating.

The country is divided into 30 districts, from which 3 deputies will be elected to the parliament based on the highest number of votes. The gender quota is also taken into account: deputies from one district must be represented by different genders, with acceptable combinations being 2 women and 1 man or 2 men and 1 woman.
