In district No. 16, 12 applications were submitted, of which 10 candidates were registered. The geographical boundaries of this district encompass the following areas: fully the Amanbaevsky, Kara-Buurinsky, Sheker and Cholponbai rural districts of the Aitmatov region, as well as the Kyrgyz, Semetey and Uch-Korgon rural districts of the Manas region. The district also includes the Birimdik, Aknazary, Kumushtak and Bakai-Ata rural districts of the Bakai-Ata region, as well as the city of Talas.

The draw took place with the participation of candidates, their authorized representatives, media representatives, as well as public and international observers. Early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh are scheduled for November 30, and the campaigning starts on November 10.
