The Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the validity of taxi drivers' licenses will not be extended and will expire on February 1, 2026.

Starting February 2, raids will begin across the country aimed at checking the presence of licenses among taxi drivers. Law enforcement agencies will monitor compliance with legislation in the field of taxi licensing and will punish those who violate the rules.

Currently, more than 7,000 individual taxi drivers and over 300 taxi fleets have received licenses throughout the country.

The Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety strongly recommends that drivers not postpone the process of obtaining licenses until the last moment to avoid fines and restrictions on their work after the inspections begin.

It is worth noting that earlier, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastan Bekeshev expressed a proposal to extend the taxi licensing period by six months.
