The Cabinet expressed its position on this issue through Daniyar Amangeldiev
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev addressed the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev with an initiative to conduct a new amnesty for the legalization of cars with foreign registration numbers. He emphasized that after the previous legalization, the state budget received 1 billion 800 million soms.
However, Amangeldiev stated that a repeat implementation of such a program is not possible.
"All necessary resources were allocated during the legalization process, and the commission completed its work. Special windows were also opened for car registration. Unfortunately, citizens did not demonstrate the necessary responsibility in this matter. If we explain this again to our partners in the EAEU, they may doubt and start accusing Kyrgyzstan of facilitating smuggling and insufficient replenishment of the general budget, and then of legalizing these cars on our territory," he noted.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet emphasized that this issue has been thoroughly studied, and to date, there are no grounds for continuing the program.
