Elon Musk, the renowned American entrepreneur and billionaire, shared his opinion that the greatest threat to safe progress in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics comes not from private companies, but from governments. He claims that authorities may use these modern technologies to suppress the public. Musk expressed his concerns in an interview with bloggers Dvarkesh Patel and John Collison, stating: "Probably the most serious threat of AI is that the state could use it to suppress the population, which is a serious concern."
Additionally, he noted that in some cases, corporations may exhibit higher moral values compared to government structures, thereby questioning their ethical standards.
In previous years, Musk has repeatedly raised the issue of the potential dangers of uncontrolled artificial intelligence, comparing it to a "demon." He has also emphasized the importance of introducing regulations and establishing ethical norms to ensure that AI development remains safe and controlled.
