At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the KFS held on February 10, 2026, an official decision was made to lift the five-year ban on striker Mirbek Akhmataliyev. This decision came as a result of a review of the case that began a year and a half ago.
Recall that the incident that led to such a severe punishment occurred in August 2024 in Bishkek during a training session of the "Muras United" club. During a conflict between players, Akhmataliyev seriously injured the jaw of his teammate. In response to this incident, the club terminated the striker's contract, and the federation ruled to suspend him from football activities for five years.
Now Akhmataliyev can once again sign contracts with any teams and participate in competitions under the auspices of the KFS. He has already established himself as one of the top scorers in the Kyrgyzstan championship. However, the question remains whether he will be able to regain his former form after a long absence, and which club will decide to sign him — this will be an intriguing moment in the transfer market.
