In the Issyk-Ata district, events were held to mark the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, reports the district state administration.

The memorial rally started in the village of Luxembourg, located near the city of Kant. At the monument to internationalist soldiers, participants honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a moment of silence, after which a memorial prayer was held. Wreaths and flowers were laid at the monument, symbolizing eternal gratitude for the courage of the soldiers who fulfilled their duty to the Motherland.

The next stage of the program was a festive concert at the local House of Culture, where veterans were honored. The mayor of the city of Kant, Ulan Mailibashev, and representatives of the Issyk-Ata district state administration delivered congratulatory speeches.

During the event, veterans of the Afghan war received honorary awards and insignia. Speakers noted that the feat of internationalist soldiers serves as an important example of patriotism for today's youth.
