In Kyrgyzstan, law enforcement officers detained the head of the Investigative Department of the Internal Affairs Department of the Kemin District in the Chui Region. According to information provided by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan, an officer born in 1992 is suspected of exceeding his authority during the investigation of a serious crime related to the sexual integrity of a minor.
As clarified by the SCNS, this criminal case is connected to a group of suspects accused of rape. A forensic medical examination confirmed their involvement in the crime. However, the investigation claims that the head of the investigative department decided to terminate the criminal prosecution against two suspects, thereby releasing them from responsibility.
According to the security service, to legitimize his decision, he forced the minor victim to give false testimony in their defense.
The arrest was made by SCNS officers in conjunction with the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of anti-corruption measures in law enforcement agencies.
The October District Court of Bishkek decided to place the suspect in custody in the SCNS pre-trial detention center.
Investigative actions are ongoing both regarding this official and in connection with the fact of the rape of the minor. The SCNS noted that all those involved in this crime will be punished according to the law.
