According to data presented by the Russian National Research Institute for Communication Development, Kyrgyzstan considers Russia its main strategic partner. This is confirmed by both official statements and practical actions on the international stage.

The report emphasizes that frequent contacts at various levels, including the highest, affirm this status. "Interactions between foreign ministries and personal meetings between presidents have served as confirmation of Russia's status. Important roles were played by the formats of the EAEU, CSTO, CIS, and SCO, within which Kyrgyzstan and Russia coordinated positions on issues of security, economy, and information security," the study states.

The conduct of CSTO exercises "Rubezh—2025" on Kyrgyz territory and the country's active participation in discussions on cyber and information security indicate a high level of trust and political coordination between the states.

It is also noted that Kyrgyzstan has shown caution, avoiding actions that could be perceived as a threat to Russia's interests. In international organizations, the republic has maintained a restrained position on issues that raise concerns for the Russian Federation, refraining from voting on anti-Russian resolutions and not joining sanctions.

The economic ties between the two countries also remain active. In 2025, they developed under relatively favorable conditions. Kyrgyzstan's membership in the EAEU created a legal and economic basis for trade, while reforms in customs administration, digitalization, and transit facilitated the simplification of procedures.

Thus, Russia continues to be Kyrgyzstan's largest trading partner.
