The President's Press Secretary Met with the Japanese Comedian Who Conquered Social Media

Askhat Alagozov, the press secretary of the president, met with Japanese student Aiya, who has won the hearts of Kyrgyzstani people through social media due to her love for the local culture.

Aiya, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan in 2025, has not only mastered the Kyrgyz language but has also learned to play the komuz. Her videos in national attire have become a real hit, delighting internet users.

“I saw your story on national television. You are not just studying; you are also actively learning about our culture and sharing it with the Japanese. This brings warmth to the hearts of Kyrgyzstani people,” noted the press secretary, adding that her activities contribute to strengthening friendship between the two countries.




Aiya talked about studying at the Kyrgyz National University and working at the Kyrgyz-Japanese Center, where she started learning the komuz. She shared that her favorite Kyrgyz word is “kooz” (beautiful) and noted that she has had the chance to visit Issyk-Kul, Son-Kul, and especially fell in love with the village of Arashan for its picturesque landscapes.

During the meeting, Askhat Alagozov gifted Aiya a book by Chingiz Aitmatov titled “The White Steamship.” She promised to continue introducing her compatriots to Kyrgyzstan.

It is important to note that Japanese students and volunteers often become favorites among the Kyrgyz people due to their respect for traditions, knowledge of the language, and sincere attitude, which always resonates in the hearts of local residents.
