Today, February 23, a memorial meeting was held at the National Historical and Memorial Complex "Ata-Beyit" in honor of the border guards who died while performing their duties to protect the borders of the Kyrgyz Republic, reports the Border Service.
Attending the event were the Chairman of the State Border Service A.K. Alimbaev, veterans of the border service, as well as officers and enlisted personnel of the agency.
The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths at the burial sites of the heroes who gave their lives for the safety of the country.
A prayer was said in memory of the fallen, after which all those present honored their memory with a moment of silence.
"The feat of these servicemen, who fulfilled their duty at the state border until the end, will forever remain in the history of the Kyrgyz Republic, serving as an example of loyalty to the oath, courage, and devotion to the homeland," the statement noted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants laid flowers at the monument symbolizing the valor of the border defenders who gave their lives for border security and the sovereignty of the country.
Among those present was Captain of the Reserve Sultanbek uulu Mirbek, who was recently awarded a state honor — the degree of distinction "Ata-Meken Batyry" for his heroism and selflessness while performing his official duties in dangerous conditions.
The chairman of the border service congratulated Mirbek on receiving the high award, expressed gratitude for his courage, and wished him a speedy recovery, adding that the agency and his combat comrades would always provide the necessary support.
