A ceremony was held in Bishkek to lay a capsule marking the beginning of the construction of a multifunctional cultural center. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy.
Previously, this site housed the old cinema "Chatyr-Kul," which had been used as a youth theater "Uchur" since 2009. Following a fire in 2025, the building was declared emergency, and it was demolished this year.
After the demolition, the building was transferred to the balance of the Bishkek city administration, and funding was allocated for the creation of a modern center.
The Minister of Culture, Mirbek Mambetaliev, expressed confidence that the new center would become an important venue for theatrical performances, concerts, film screenings, as well as for youth initiatives and educational programs.
