He noted that among the deputies of the Bishkek City Council, there are situations where municipal property is used for personal purposes. Junushaliev recalled the property issues raised on January 30, 2025, during a dispute with the deputies of the "Zhanı Kutch" faction in the city council. According to him, the information about the nine plots of land that were rented by the deputies is just the tip of the iceberg, accounting for only 10-15% of the entire situation. This data, the mayor clarified, has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies.
Junushaliev emphasized: "After the publication of the information, it is forwarded to law enforcement agencies for verification. However, it should be noted that we provided data not only about the deputies but also requested an audit of the city hall's leadership. If municipal property was leased or privatized, it must be verified according to the law, including our relatives. If the facts are confirmed, appropriate measures should be taken. The property must return to the ownership of the city hall, as we need to increase non-tax revenues. We raised the issue not only of increasing rental fees but also of expanding the base. If such videos or actions appear now, it may be part of a systemic audit. We have no other information. We exercised our right and forwarded the available data," he stated.
It is worth noting that a video recently surfaced online concerning the assets and connections of Kongantieva. The author of the material claims that people close to him have numerous companies and businesses. It is alleged that Kongantieva, while being a deputy of the Bishkek City Council and heading the land commission, rented plots in the capital at undervalued prices, then privatized them and built multi-story buildings and commercial structures on these lands. It is also reported that some of the assets are registered in the name of his mother and close relatives.
Kongantieva has not yet commented on these rumors; however, on March 10, he resigned as a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, and later it became known that he was detained on suspicion of corruption.
