At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Dastan Jumabekov raised the issue of speed limits for electric scooters. He noted that with the arrival of warm weather, the number of scooters on the streets will increase, which could lead to incidents involving pedestrians, especially children.

The head of the Main Department for Road Safety, Azenbek Kozukeev, responded that personal mobility devices must be equipped with brake lights, and the maximum speed for them is 25 km/h.

However, Jumabekov expressed the opinion that such a speed is excessive and proposed to reduce it to 15-20 km/h.

According to him, it is necessary to require companies that provide electric scooters for rent to change their software to limit speed according to the new regulations. "I am sure that the residents of the city will appreciate these changes," the deputy added.
