During a joint meeting of the parliamentary groups "Ala-Too" and "Isheni" on March 13, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health Tilek Mamadaliev announced plans to purchase about 400 ambulances this year.

Of these, approximately 200 units will be acquired with funds from the World Bank, and there is also a grant from the Asian Development Bank amounting to $1 million.

The deputy minister assured that "all vehicles will be distributed across the country based on needs."

Deputy Ismanali Joroev expressed concern about the purchase of Russian vehicles, pointing out that they often break down within two to three years on our unpaved roads. He suggested considering the acquisition of "Mercedes" vehicles.

In response, Mamadaliev stated that while "Sprinters" would be a good choice, the conditions of the tenders impose certain restrictions.

“We strive for quality ambulances, but we have to consider budget constraints. In the past, we purchased "Sprinters," but their maintenance also requires significant costs, and some medical institutions faced problems,” he noted.

Additionally, Mamadaliev reported that the local company "Tulpar" is currently starting the assembly of ambulances in collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer JAC.

“The price for these vehicles is quite attractive. I think we should pay attention to them,” he added.
