
At the meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration, the work of the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Yekaterinburg for the period of 2024–2025 was discussed.
The report was presented by the Consul General, Maksat Tentimishov.
According to him, there are 14,730 citizens of Kyrgyzstan registered with the consulate.
He noted that among the current issues are cases of violations of migration legislation by certain individuals, difficulties in implementing some administrative procedures, and prolonged timelines for addressing issues related to the repatriation of convicted citizens.
After hearing the report, the deputies raised a number of questions, emphasizing the importance of protecting the rights and interests of citizens, especially through the provision of legal and advisory assistance to labor migrants.
Deputies Gulya Kozhokulova, Medina Kairylbekova, and Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva noted the need to enhance informational and educational work among Kyrgyz citizens regarding the requirements of migration and labor legislation of the Russian Federation.
The committee chair, Elvira Surbaldieva, inquired about the actions of the consulate in cases of violations of labor rights of citizens by employers. Consul General Tentimishov reported that assistance was provided to 24 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in obtaining monetary compensation from employers, and meetings are held with employers regarding the legal employment of Kyrgyz citizens.
Additionally, the deputies discussed work with Kyrgyz citizens in penitentiary institutions, prompt responses to citizens' appeals, and the provision of consular and legal support.
