At the checkpoint "Kyzyl-Kiya," located in the Batken region, employees of the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine did not allow the import of seedlings from Uzbekistan, as they did not pass phytosanitary control. This became known thanks to information provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the inspection, it was found that 82,830 seedlings brought from Uzbekistan lacked the necessary labeling on the packaging.
According to the resolution of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council dated November 30, 2016, No. 157, each package of quarantine products must contain labeling indicating the name of the product, the country of origin, as well as the exporting or re-exporting country.
The absence of labeling is a violation of the general quarantine phytosanitary requirements established for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, which was the reason for the cargo's return to the importing country.
