In recent years, festive prayers have taken place in mosques, but this year the authorities assessed the situation as safe, allowing the events to be held outdoors.
The holiday of Orozo Ait, celebrated by Muslims, symbolizes the end of fasting during the month of Ramadan. On this day, believers perform the festive prayer, visit relatives and friends, and provide assistance to those in need.
The Muftiyat has published the program of events for March 20:
- 7:30-8:00 — reading of the Quran;
- 8:00-8:25 — religious lectures;
- 8:25-8:30 — explanation of the order and rules for conducting the festive prayers;
- 8:30 — performance of the festive prayers.
Considering the characteristics of mountainous areas, there may be slight changes in timing depending on local conditions.
To ensure public order on the day of the Orozo Ait celebration, more than 10,000 police officers will be deployed across the country.
