On November 28, Friday, a collective Istisqa prayer will be held in all mosques of Uzbekistan, during which believers will ask the Almighty for rain. This decision was made by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan in connection with the ongoing autumn drought and the lack of forecasts for rain, as reported by local media sources.

At the initiative of Mufti Nuriddin Khaliknazor, a two-unit Istisqa prayer will be conducted after the Friday prayer. The department noted that this practice is an ancient Islamic tradition used during periods of drought for collective supplication, repentance, and requests for water.

In addition to the prayer, a charitable event is planned in central mosques, during which sacrificial meat will be distributed among low-income families, widows, orphans, and elderly people who have lost their breadwinners.

Furthermore, before the Friday prayer, in Islamic educational institutions under the department's management, teachers and students will complete a collective reading of the collection of hadiths Sahih al-Bukhari. Historical sources claim that similar readings during times of drought were often accompanied by the sending of rain by the will of Allah.

The department calls on believers to pray, repent, and engage in charity. Organizers emphasize that in difficult times for nature, it is important not only to turn to spiritual practices but also to care for those who are especially in need — the weak, the poor, and the lonely.
