It is known that Charité, the largest medical organization in Europe, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra have signed a cooperation agreement for deeper collaboration in research projects that combine music and medicine.
In an official statement, it is emphasized that the Philharmonic represents a symbol of outstanding artistic achievements and actively supports young talents, as well as engages in important cultural activities both in Berlin and on the international stage. Charité, on the other hand, is renowned for its high level of medical care and modern biomedical research. The collaboration aims to combine their expertise for a deeper study of the relationship between music, health, and medicine.
As part of the new project, various research initiatives are planned, including the study of musical physiology and the neurobiological foundations of music's influence, as well as the application of technologies in the digital environment. Additionally, Charité and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra intend to create event formats for a broad audience, including dialogue concerts and music-oriented health initiatives.
