At a press conference, Deputy Minister of Education Nadiira Dzhusupbekova stated that in the primary grades of most schools in Kyrgyzstan, knowledge is provided at the same level, which contributes to the formation of functional literacy.

According to Dzhusupbekova, parents should not rush to choose a school for their children in the early years of education. She noted: “Based on my many years of experience as a teacher and deputy principal, I can assert that in primary school, one should not immediately decide on an educational institution. It is important to remember that the child has not yet developed their main inclinations. When registering for the first grade, the child's safety is of primary importance. There is no need to force a child to travel across the entire city. The optimal choice would be a school located nearby.”

However, Dzhusupbekova noted that in large cities, especially in Bishkek, there may be a shortage of places in schools by microdistricts.

“If all classes are full, it is worth considering the possibility of registering at a neighboring school. For example, if you did not manage to register your child in the first round and are waiting for the second, when a wider choice will be available, it is necessary to consider whether there will be free places in the desired school. It may not be as convenient for transporting the child. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a school in the first round that is not too far away,” the deputy minister added.

Registration for the first grade starts on April 1.
