CSTO Ready for ISIS Invasion
According to the diplomat, all countries in the region are under protection. Even Uzbekistan, which has distanced itself from ODKB and received a decent amount of military equipment from the USA, can count on assistance in case of an emergency.
- As you know, Uzbekistan has withdrawn from ODKB, preferring to support the legitimate government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on a bilateral basis. We, along with our allies, are currently conducting preparatory work: refining the operations of collective rapid response forces, and special units from our armed forces have been allocated. We have identified several weak areas and reinforced them with army units… In short, there is an understanding of which forces will be deployed where in case of a threat to extinguish a nascent conflict, - assured Andrey Andreevich. - In the south – in the Republic of Tajikistan and in Kyrgyzstan, this includes the 201st military base and the airbase in Kant. They are ready to receive additional units in case of an invasion of ISIS forces into the republics. Besides the fact that there are combat aircraft here, which will be deployed in case of the emergence of ISIS formations in the republics, reinforcements can also arrive, if necessary, to be transferred to Tajikistan. From the standpoint of military planning and logistics, everything is coordinated, and I would not want to be in the shoes of those who dare to violate the borders of our countries!
