At the 2025 World Boxing Championship taking place in Dubai (UAE), Kyrgyzstani Bakyt Toktosun uulu successfully began his performance by winning his first match.

The tournament, organized by IBA, started on December 4, and Toktosun uulu is competing in the weight category up to 92 kg, starting from the round of 16.

From the Kyrgyzstan team, he was among those athletes who were unable to obtain a visa to the UAE immediately, which led to the tournament's start being postponed to December 4. As a result, Bakyt arrived in the country only on December 3.

On the same day, he learned that his first opponent would be a boxer from Kenya. On the first competitive day during the day session, the Kyrgyzstani stepped into the ring and won by a split decision.

Toktosun uulu's next match will be against Andrei Zaplitny from Moldova.

Also on that day, Syrgak Abdyjapar uulu was scheduled to enter the ring, competing in the weight category up to 75 kg. In the round of 32, he was supposed to face a boxer from Liberia, but his opponent did not make weight and was not allowed to compete.

Thus, Abdyjapar uulu advanced to the next round without a fight, where he will face the eighth seed Fazlidin Erkinboev from Uzbekistan.
