In the co-main event, Brazilian Herdenson Batista will enter the ring, known for wearing a kalpak in each of his fights. This time, he will be fighting for the interim lightweight championship title against Russian fighter Daud Shaikhaev.
The weigh-in ceremony took place on January 8, where Batista appeared without his traditional kalpak, but with the flags of Brazil and Kyrgyzstan combined together.
"I have many friends from different countries, including Kyrgyzstan. Although most people in Grozny will support my opponent, the brothers from Kyrgyzstan will be on my side. This gives me strength," Batista shared his thoughts at the weigh-in.
Kyrgyzstani fighter Manas Imarov (13-6) will also compete in the tournament, facing off against Arbi Aguyev (39-13) from Russia.
