Recently, Makhachev changed weight categories to the welterweight division (up to 77 kg) and immediately won the championship title by defeating Jack Maddalena. Meanwhile, Topuria is the current champion in the lightweight division (up to 70 kg).
“I was on my way to Qatar, but I managed to see the fight between Islam Makhachev and Jack Maddalena. It was a confident victory. Islam fought excellently throughout all five rounds,” noted Oralbay uulu.
In his opinion, Islam has a better chance of defeating Ilia Topuria if their fight takes place in the 77 kg weight category. “Islam is significantly bigger, while Topuria started at 66 kg and then moved to 70. It will be difficult for him at 77 kg,” he added.
Additionally, Myktybek Oralbay uulu plans to have his first fight in the welterweight division on November 23, when he will step into the ring against Jack Hermansson at a tournament in Qatar.
