At the Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyz wrestler Akjol Mahmudov secured a spot in the finals.

He is competing in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 77 kilograms, starting from the quarter-finals.

In his first match, Akjol achieved a premature victory over a wrestler from Tunisia, after which he again won early, this time against a representative from Egypt. In the finals, he was set to face an Iranian athlete competing for Qatar. Despite trailing 0:2 after the first period, the Kyrgyz wrestler managed to execute a 4-point throw in the second period and snatched victory.

In the decisive match, Mahmudov will meet Abdi Amir from Iran. The final bouts will begin at 20:30 Bishkek time, according to the official competition website.

Another Kyrgyz wrestler, Asan Janishov, lost a tense match to the reigning world champion from Iran with a score of 6:7. He will now compete for the bronze medal, facing Islam Abbasov from Azerbaijan.

Razak Beishkeev also has a chance to compete for bronze. He is competing in the Greco-Roman wrestling weight category up to 67 kilograms.

Although Beishkeev lost in the first round to an Azerbaijani wrestler, he received the opportunity to continue competing in the consolation tournament for third place. In his first consolation match, the Kyrgyz wrestler achieved a convincing victory over a wrestler from Afghanistan and is now ready to fight for the bronze medal.
