Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC lightweight champion, expressed his reluctance to see Islam Makhachev at the tournament that will take place at the White House in the USA.
“Actually, it’s not so important who will participate. If Islam is among them, it will be a significant event for us. But speaking of my opinion, I would prefer that he doesn’t fight there. I just don’t want him to,” Nurmagomedov shared in an interview with journalist Adam Zubayraev.
It is worth noting that after his victory over Jack Della Maddalena in the welterweight title fight, Islam Makhachev expressed his desire to participate in the UFC tournament scheduled for June 2026 in Washington.
Dana White, the president of UFC, stated that the final roster of participants for the tournament will be determined in March of next year.
