World Boxing Championship: Ikhtiyar Nishonov advanced to the quarterfinals by knocking out his opponent in the second round

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Ikhtiyar Nishonov has successfully reached the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Championship currently taking place in Dubai, UAE.

The tournament, organized by IBA, has gathered participants from various countries.

In the under 71 kg category, Nishonov began his journey from the 1/16 finals.

In his debut fight at the tournament, the Kyrgyzstani achieved a quick victory, knocking out the Australian in just 22 seconds.

In the 1/8 finals, Nishonov once again showcased his skills, stopping his opponent from Thailand in the second round, which allowed him to advance to the quarterfinals. In the next match, he will face a representative from Moldova.

In addition to Nishonov, Omar Livaza (up to 63.5 kg) and Myrzakir Koshaliyev (over 92 kg) also reached the quarterfinals.

1/16 finals:

Ikhtiyar Nishonov - Alex Skantzos (Australia) — victory for Nishonov by knockout in the first round.

1/8 finals:

Witthaya Chansom (Thailand) - Ikhtiyar Nishonov — victory for Nishonov by knockout in the second round.
