- What competitions has Denis already participated in the USA?
- He started with two stages of the World Cup, but due to illness, he couldn't show his best result. Then he participated in the US Championship, where he competed after intensive training. We focused on the results; he didn't even shave. In the final, he finished fifth twice in one of the distances and also competed in a tournament in Austin.
- It is clear that the training is aimed at the Olympics. What is your next planned competition?
- The world elite of swimming is currently concentrated in the USA, all preparing for the Olympics. Our team is also focused on this important start. However, the nearest major competition is the Asian Games in Japan, which will take place in the fall of 2026.
- Has the selection for the Olympics started for you?
- The International Swimming Federation has already sent us the standards that will come into effect from April 1, 2027. This year, a new standard for the 50-meter breaststroke has been added, and the requirements have become even stricter compared to previous seasons.
- What were Denis's results in Austin, where he won three medals?
- It was the start of the season, and we did a lot of work both in the gym and in the water, increasing the overall mileage.
- Denis won three medals, but what about his time results?
- His results are very close to his personal records. With this level of preparation for the Asian Games, he will be in excellent shape. We will be able to assess the effectiveness of our plan, provided that we manage to accomplish everything we have planned.
