The Pro Swim Series tournament is currently being held in Austin, Texas.
The 100-meter breaststroke events began on January 14. In the preliminary heats, Petrashov recorded the second fastest time, allowing him to advance to the finals.
The final race took place early in the morning on January 15, where the Kyrgyzstani finished the distance in 59.55 seconds, thus securing second place and earning a silver medal.
The first place in this race was taken by Van Matthias from the USA with a time of 59.45 seconds.
Additionally, Denis Petrashov will participate in the 50 and 200 meter breaststroke events as part of this tournament.
“This tournament has gathered many of the strongest athletes who, like us, are preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games. Among the participants are many Olympic champions from the USA, as well as the entire team from France with Leon Marchand. The Kazakhstan team is represented by nine athletes who will also be training in the USA. We have also been promised support from the State Agency for Sports so that Denis can prepare there,” shared the head coach of the Kyrgyzstan team about the situation with their preparation.
