At the meeting of the Collegium of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, which was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, the results of the work for 2025 were discussed. The event gathered participants, including members of the collegium, heads of regional administrations, and representatives of the National Olympic Committee, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In his address, Edil Baisalov noted that the creation of a specialized agency has allowed for effective resource management and improved organization in the sports sector.
“State support for sports continues to grow, and in 2025, funding will reach nearly 2.6 billion soms, while in 2020 this amount was about 800 million soms. This confirms the trust of the authorities in the sports sector and our responsibility to athletes,” he added.
He also emphasized the implementation of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2030.

“The main goal of this program is to increase the number of people engaged in physical culture and sports, improve infrastructure, develop the Olympic reserve and mass sports, including the opening of sports sections in schools. Special attention will be paid to supporting women's sports,” he stressed.
Edil Baisalov also highlighted the importance of preparing for the XXXIV Summer Olympic Games and the XVIII Summer Paralympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles.
“The Olympic Games are the pinnacle of sporting achievements. It is necessary to carefully analyze our shortcomings and ensure proper preparation for athletes,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.

In addition, instructions were given to accelerate the launch of the new state enterprise “Kyrgyz Center for Sports Medicine,” enhance safety at mass competitions, and activate the digitalization of sports services. The Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports has been tasked with reviewing its program and improving the training of specialists in new sports.

In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will host a number of international tournaments, including the Asian Wrestling Championship, the Central Asian Sailing Championship on Lake Issyk-Kul, and the World Nomad Games.
Following the meeting, relevant structures were instructed to expedite the development of a comprehensive program for the development of physical culture and sports until 2030.
