In the Batken region, in the Kadamjay district, there is an interesting tradition called "sabis ashar," as reported by a Turmush correspondent.

According to this custom, a day before the celebration, men, including relatives, friends, and neighbors, gather together to prepare the ingredients for the pilaf. Primarily, they focus on slicing and peeling carrots.

“The amount of carrots that need to be prepared depends on the volume of rice that will be used. For example, for a two-day sünnöt toy (a circumcision ceremony for boys), 100 kilograms of rice was required, and the men sliced about 120 kilograms of carrots,” residents of the area say.

In addition, the men also clean the rice that will be used in preparing the pilaf for the celebration.
