Turdiyeva Galina Fyodorovna


Applied artist. Born on October 10, 1952, in the city of Frunze. In 1974, she graduated from the Frunze Art College, specializing in artistic leather processing.

Since 1974, she has been an artist at the Central Design and Technology Bureau of the Ministry of Local Industry of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1978 to 1980, she participated in cultural and research expeditions to the Atbashy, Batken, Nooken, Janijol, Jumgal, and Chatkal regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 1982 to 1989, she worked as an artist at the Union of Folk Art Crafts "Kiyal." Since 1989, she has been working at the Art Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic. Since 2003, she has been the head of the design studio "Kiyiz."

Since 1991, she has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic.

G. Turdiyeva has made a significant contribution to the study of Kyrgyz folk art. She has collected a rich material on embroidery, artistic leather and wood processing, as well as weaving and jewelry art. Based on the studied samples, she has created works that revive long-forgotten techniques. In this regard, the works of K. Asanakunova and G. Turdiyeva are particularly interesting. Turdiyeva's embroideries are created based on the folk principle of color solutions using ancient embroidery techniques.

Participant in republican exhibitions and international symposiums. Turdiyeva's works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in private collections abroad.
