- According to data from the National Statistical Committee, the volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan in 2024 amounted to 599.8 billion soms at current prices.

The physical volume index this year was 105.5% compared to 2023 and 122.9% relative to 2019, confirming significant growth in the sector over the past five years.

The most notable contribution to the growth in production volumes came from enterprises engaged in the production of basic metals. Their development has been the main driver of industrial growth from 2020 to 2024. Excluding enterprises related to extraction at the "Kumtor" deposit, the overall dynamics also show an increase in volumes, except for 2020, when due to the pandemic, production volume decreased to 91.4% compared to the previous year.

Employment in the industrial sector has also increased over the past five years. In 2024, 142.3 thousand people were employed in this sector, which is 8.1% more than in 2020 and 4% more compared to 2023. The average nominal salary of industrial workers in 2024 was 54.3 thousand soms.

However, the share of gross value added of the industrial sector in the gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to be 16.5% in 2024, down from 17.6% in 2020. This indicates a gradual decline in the sector's share in the economy, despite its absolute growth.
