Airtash Warm Waters

Airtash Warm Waters

Airtash Warm Waters were brought to the surface by wells drilled by the Makmal Geological Exploration Party in 1974 for purposes far removed from the search for underground water.

They are located in the Ak-Tal district of the Naryn region on the left bank of the Makmal River valley in the Airtash area, 3.5 km from the cultural center at an absolute elevation of about 2000 m.

The water emerges at a temperature of 23°C, with a sodium sulfate-bicarbonate-chloride composition, and a mineralization of up to 650 mg/l, carbonated with nitrogen and with a significantly increased helium content. In each of the two wells located 300 m apart, slightly more than 1 l/s of water flows, a significant feature of which is the increased content of ore elements — molybdenum, copper, lithium.

Due to the relatively low temperature and rather ordinary mineralization and composition, the subthermal waters of Airtash do not have balneological value.
