PM2.5 refers to microscopic particles with a diameter of less than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than a human hair. They are a mixture of dust, ash, soot, and various chemical compounds present in the air. These particles are responsible for the smog characteristic of large cities.
As of November 20, Bishkek ranks 38th in the world air quality ranking (data as of 5:00 PM).
