PM2.5 consists of solid particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. They include a mixture of dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates suspended in the air. These particles contribute to the deterioration of air quality observed in large cities.
On a global level, according to the air quality ranking, Bishkek ranks fourth as of 11:00 on March 12.
