According to the regulator, 179.5 million US dollars were sold on the interbank market.
“Of this amount, the National Bank sold 106.5 million dollars with settlements on the date of the transaction, as well as 73 million dollars with settlements different from the transaction date. This is the largest intervention of 2023,” the statement notes.
The previous, seventh intervention took place on December 5, during which 83 million dollars were sold.
In 2023, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic acted solely as a seller of currency, responding to the growing demand from financial market participants. As a result of all eight interventions, 853 million dollars were sold.
