"What is beauty and aesthetics in today's understanding, in a world of mass consumption and consumer desire dictation? The theme of the competition is not only about aesthetics but also about how the everyday can remain unnoticed and at times invisible to the eye. The use of traditional materials and ordinary household items was encouraged for participants to create objects with a new concept, giving them new life and thus creating their own story or point of view. After all, it is abstract thinking and stepping outside the ordinary that can inspire designers and contemporary artists to create interesting collections of works," noted the event organizers.
Guests of the exhibition admired the imagination of the authors, each presented exhibit was examined for a long time, and the artists were bombarded with questions, as everyone present wanted to know what the author truly meant. To create one of the installations titled "Amphitheater," the creators had to go to the market and exchange brand new stools for the colorful chairs of the vendors. The authors wanted to show the state of the current theater, as in their creative workshop "705," they use such low stools instead of armchairs, which the market vendors were very willing to exchange. The vendors provided the designers with stools that have their own history.
The works presented by the famous professional photographer Arthur Bolzhurov amazed the guests, many were curious why the author of quite serious conceptual portraits chose such photographs.
- But this is beautiful too! These are ironic photographs, but I approached their creation very seriously. The girls in the photos have not lost their attractiveness. One of the models held a cut-out picture of lips from a magazine to her face, while another simply held a funny children's pacifier, and in the third portrait, stockings and glasses were placed on the head. I thought the ideas would be clear to many, but it turned out not to be the case. Now I will refine my works even more," said exhibition participant Arthur Bolzhurov.
The attention of the public was also drawn to a car made of office chairs. Every guest hurried to take a photo against the backdrop of the unusual vehicle.
- This work is created from simple things that we use in everyday life. It uses stools and chairs, and I wanted to show people that from everyday items, one can create something that can influence our consciousness, imagination, and the surrounding world. We created a car, took it outside, parked it, and amazed people. We designed the model to resemble a bulldozer," said project participant Ryspek Sharshiev.
Guests were also surprised by clocks made from ordinary vinyl records. The author, Tolognbay Abdykadyrov, saw the technique for making works on the internet and added a local flavor to them.
An integral part of this festival was also an educational program, which involved leading designers from Central Asia and abroad. For the lectures, 15 successful specialists from various fields were invited: fashion design, photography, graphic design, interior design, product design, and animation.
