A scientist from Kyzyl-Kiya, Bekkan Allaberdiev, became the winner among participants from 40 countries, taking first place.
He was the sole representative of the Batken region at this competition, which tested logical thinking and mathematical skills.
According to his mother, Elnura Abdylbasy kyzy, Bekkan also won prizes at other international mental arithmetic competitions in Istanbul and Tashkent.
“My son Bekkan flew to Los Angeles on January 6 to participate in the international mathematics olympiad XCEL. He was the only participant from the Batken region. On January 10, he competed in the olympiad and took first place among students from 40 countries,” E. Abdylbasy kyzy said.
“In March, he will participate in the olympiad in Singapore. He has had an interest in studying since the first grade. He is very passionate about mathematics and mental arithmetic, and he thinks very well. He is the oldest of my three children. He turned 9 years old. He is currently in the 4th grade at 'Light Academy',” she added.
