"Commercial banks charge high fees for money transfers, - deputy"

- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 5, 2026, Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova expressed concern about the significant fees charged by commercial banks for money transfers.

In response, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Medet Tairov noted that for individuals, such transfers are carried out without a fee, while the tariffs for legal entities are discussed with the banks.

He also emphasized that commercial banks operate as businesses and need to make a profit.

“I have never heard of commercial banks operating at a loss; their profits are constantly increasing,” the deputy remarked.
