10 som banknote of 1994 is made of white paper measuring 135x65 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is dark green. The banknote has a white border on three sides, 4 mm wide. The paper contains red, green, and blue fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce under UV light. The paper features a localized watermark with a portrait of the akyn Toktogul Satylganov. A vertically oriented visible protective thread with microtext "KYRGYZ BANK" is embedded in the paper. The banknote is printed using offset printing.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "KYRGYZ BANK," the signature of the Chairman (Törağa) of the NBKR, and the number "10." In the center, within a national ornament, is the numerical denomination of the banknote; to the right is the portrait of Kasym Tynystanov - the first Kyrgyz professor, author of the first textbooks on the Kyrgyz language, and one of the founders of Kyrgyz written literature - along with the inscription "KASYM." At the bottom are the numbers "10"; the text "TEN SOM"; and a continuous register in the form of an ornament. To the right is a vertical ornamental stripe.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, is the serial number printed in red ink, the text "KYRGYZ BANK," and the number "10." In the center is an image of the mountain ranges of Kyrgyzstan and the Jety-Oguz valley. At the bottom right is the serial number printed in black ink. On the left side of the vertical ornamental stripe is the number "10" and the text "TEN SOM."

In the center, within the ornament, is an image of the denomination "10" done in silver ink; the portrait of Kasym Tynystanov - the first Kyrgyz professor, author of the first textbooks on the Kyrgyz language, and one of the founders of Kyrgyz written literature - along with the inscription "KASYM (1901-1938)." The portrait and inscriptions on the banknote have a textured feel. On the white coupon field is a conditional mark in the form of a geometric figure with raised relief for visually impaired individuals. To the right is the serial number printed in black, with the size of the digits increasing from top to bottom. At the bottom are the numbers "10," containing microtext made up of continuous rows of the number "10"; the text "TEN SOM," which is underlined by a line of microtext "KYRGYZ BANK," and a continuous register in the form of an ornament.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "KYRGYZ BANK" and the number "10," which contains microtext "KYRGYZ BANK." In the center is an image of the mountain ranges of Kyrgyzstan and the Jety-Oguz valley. In the ornament forming the background grid, there is microtext indicating the denomination of the banknote ("TEN SOM"). On the left side of the vertical ornamental stripe is the number "10" and the text "TEN SOM." On the right is a continuous register and the year of issue of the banknote "1997."
