The 1000 som banknote of the 2010 series is made of white paper measuring 150x71 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is gray. The paper contains colorless fibers that fluoresce in UV light in red and blue colors. The paper has a localized watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's numerical denomination. The banknote contains a windowed metallic security thread with microtext "1000 som." White coupon fields are located along the edges of the banknote.
The portrait, the inscriptions "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" (Kyrgyz Bank), "МИҢ СОМ" (One Thousand Som), the denomination "1000," and the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic are embossed on the front side.

The banknote features an original design and improved security elements.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, is the denomination "1000," which contains microimages of a camel, the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ," and the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink.

On the left side of the banknote is the portrait of Jusup Balasagyn, an outstanding poet and thinker of the Middle Ages, along with the inscription "ЖУСУП БАЛАСАГЫН (XI к.)" (Jusup Balasagyn, 11th century). The portrait is made with a microfont that repeatedly spells out "Жусуп Баласагын." To the left of the portrait is a holographic strip featuring a stylized portrait of J. Balasagyn and the denomination figures. When the banknote is tilted, the image of J. Balasagyn changes to the title of his work "Благодатное название" (The Blessed Name). In the lines to the right of the portrait, the repeated inscription "Кыргыз Банкы" (Kyrgyz Bank) is visible under magnification. Below the portrait is the text "МИҢ СОМ" (One Thousand Som).

On the white coupon field to the left of the portrait, the serial number is vertically positioned in black ink. To the right of the security thread is an embossed image of a stylized sun shape, which stands out against a gray circle. The images on the watermark paper align to form the word "сом" (som) when viewed against the light.

In the lower right corner is a gray rectangle containing an embossed image of a national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the numerical denomination "1000" can be seen. In the bottom right corner are the figures of the denomination "1000."

On the reverse side of the banknote is an image of the architectural monument "Takhte-Sulaiman" against the backdrop of the beautiful peaks of Kyrgyzstan. At the top is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the denomination figures "1000."

In the center of the banknote is an iridescent (made with translucent ink) stripe with the repeated denomination "1000" and the inscription "Кыргыз Банкы." At the bottom of the banknote are the numerical denomination "1000," the text "МИҢ СОМ," and the year of issue "2010."

The 1000 som banknote of the 2000 series is made of white paper measuring 165x78 mm. The predominant color of the banknote is gray-green. The paper contains red and light green fibers, as well as colorless fibers that fluoresce in UV light. The paper has a localized watermark that repeats the portrait depicted on the front side of the banknote, as well as a watermark in the form of the banknote's numerical denomination. The banknote contains a windowed metallic security thread with microtext "1000 som" and an ornament. A striped code is located on the left and right edges of the banknote.

On the front side of the banknote, at the top, is the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ," the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic; five slanted strokes for visually impaired individuals; the number "1000," which contains microfont in the form of solid rows of the number "1000" with increased relief; as well as the serial number of the banknote printed in red ink. Next to the serial number is a hologram in the shape of a stylized national ornament. The central element of the hologram consists of the numerical denomination "1000" and the logo of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In the center within the ornament is an embossed image of the denomination "1000"; a see-through register in the shape of a circle, the portrait of Jusup Balasagyn - an outstanding poet and thinker of the Middle Ages, a native of the ancient city of Balasagyn - and the inscription "ЖУСУП БАЛАСАГЫН (11к.)" (Jusup Balasagyn, 11th century). On the white coupon field of the banknote is a conditional mark with increased relief for visually impaired individuals. At the bottom is the number "1000," which contains microfont in the form of solid rows of the number "1000"; the text "МИҢ СОМ," which is underlined by a line of microfont "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ." To the right is the serial number printed in black ink (the size of the digits increases from top to bottom), as well as a vertical ornamental stripe. At the bottom is a rectangle containing an embossed image of a national ornament. When viewed from different angles, a hidden image of the numerical denomination "1000" can be seen.

On the reverse side of the banknote, at the top, are the text "КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ" and the number "1000," which contains microfont of the numerical denomination 1000. In the center is an image of the ancient architectural monument - Takhte Sulaiman - against the backdrop of the sacred Sulaiman mountain. The issuance of the banknote is dedicated to the 3000th anniversary of the oldest city in Kyrgyzstan - the city of Osh, as indicated by the inscription "Ошко үч мин жыл" (Three Thousand Years to Osh) on the left side of the banknote. To the right is a see-through register in the shape of a circle. In the ornament that forms the background grid, there is microfont indicating the denomination of the banknote "МИҢ СОМ." On the vertical ornamental stripe is the inscription "МИҢ СОМ." At the bottom are the numerical denomination "1000" and the year of issue "2000." On the left side of the banknote is a golden rectangle with a national ornament and the numerical denomination "1000," made with iridescent ink.
