
In accordance with Articles 4, 15, 16, and 18 of the Law "On the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic" and the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the issuance of the 10 som coin into circulation" No. 46/1 dated November 18, 2009, a circulating coin with a denomination of 10 som is introduced into circulation throughout the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic starting from December 1, 2009.
The circulating coin with a denomination of 10 som is made using the method of galvanizing a steel core with nickel.
On the obverse side of the coin, an image of a traditional Kyrgyz leather vessel called kёkёr for the national drink kumys is used. On the kёkёr, in the shape of a triangle, is placed the symbol of the tumar, which was used in various Kyrgyz ornaments.
On the reverse side of the coin, the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic and the year of the coin's issuance are depicted.

The circulating coin with a denomination of 10 som has the status of an official means of payment within the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and is subject to mandatory acceptance as a means of payment.
