Since April 2, 2007, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has put into circulation a collectible coin "SCO," dedicated to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The coin is minted from sterling silver and has an international "proof" quality. The coin has the status of an official means of payment on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On the front side of the coin, the emblem of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is depicted in colored enamel: an image of the globe, on which the territories of the member countries of the organization are marked. At the top of the coin, there is a circular inscription "КЫЗМАТТАШУУНУН ШАНХАЙ УЮМУ" ("Shanghai Cooperation Organization"). At the bottom of the coin, there is a stylized image of the tündük of a Kyrgyz yurt, symbolizing the unity of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan. On the left side of the coin, the weight and metal fineness are indicated (Ag 925/28.28), and on the right side - the denomination of the coin.
The main compositional motif on the reverse side of the coin is the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic. In the center of the coat of arms, against the backdrop of a lake and the foothills of the Ala-Tuu, over which the sun rises, there is an image of a white falcon with outstretched wings, symbolizing the freedom and independence of Kyrgyzstan. At the bottom of the coin, the year of issue is indicated (2007).
