Dooronbek Sadyrbaev, Kyrgyz film director, writer, and public figure
Born in 1940 in the village of Apyrtan, Nooken district, Jalal-Abad region. Kyrgyz.
Graduated from secondary school No. 1 in the settlement of Nooken (1957) and the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (1969).
Studied at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute, expelled from the 4th year at his own request (1961).
Began his career in 1961 as an assistant director. Later worked as a broadcaster, editor, and director at Kyrgyz Television.
From 1969 to 1991 - film director at the "Kyrgyztelefilm" studio.
In 1991-92 - advisor on arts and information to the President of Ichkeria Dudayev, worked in Iraq at his request during the American operation "Desert Storm," filming a documentary.
From 1992 to 1995 - artistic director of the "Ikhlasfilm Production" studio, Istanbul, Turkey.
Elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic of the I convocation (1995-2000).
Since 1999 - chairman of the Executive Committee of the "Kairan El" party. Member of the Jeans Club.
From 2000-2005 - deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Nooken electoral district No. 13, Jalal-Abad region. Simultaneously ran for election under No. 2 on the party list of the Agrarian Labor Party of Kyrgyzstan.
Since December 2004 - co-chairman and co-founder of the public-political movement "Ata-Jurt" ("Fatherland").
Chairman of the "Kairan El" party;
Since November 2007 - candidate No. 5 in the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh on the list of the National Revival Party "Asaba".
Directed feature films "Arman," "Song of Love," "The Howl of the She-Wolf," which have been repeatedly awarded at international and all-union television film festivals.
Author of more than 80 chronicle-documentary films, 16 feature films, as well as television films, 7 books (including a novel), and over 700 journalistic articles. Creator of the television series "Kairan El." The story "Silk Boomerang" has been translated and published in 30 languages.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic.
State Advisor of the II class.
Awarded the Order of "Manas." Posthumously awarded the highest distinction "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic" with the special badge "Ak Shumkar" (November 1, 2010).
